The Range FAQ
General Questions
What is the date of the event? Race day is July 11, 2026
What is the exact location of the event? The start (and finish) of the event is at the Centennial Park, Claresholm, Alberta
What distances are available? 60km (Rustler), 85km (Rodeo), 122km (The Range), and 211km (4iiii Frontier). Please note: all riding distances are approximate. We have done our best to ensure that each distance is accurate but based on the routes chosen, it is sometimes difficult to be exact. We know how you hate to be short-changed!
I want to enter but do not have a gravel bike. Can I still participate? Absolutely! Traditional gravel bikes are the most common bikes out there, but a mountain bike (preferably hard tail) can be used as well.
Are e-bikes permitted? Yes, but only in the 60km Rustler distance. This must be indicated on your registration form as well. E-bikes are not permitted in any other distance.
Where should I park for the event?
NO PARKING AT CENTENNIAL PARK for race participants (unless you are camping there)
People camping at the park can park their cars on their sites (this includes people who have reserved sites, & people who want to boondock or tent)
Designated parking for all participants is at Willow Creek Composite High School (628 55 Ave W, Claresholm, AB). ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO ARE NOT CAMPING SHOULD BE PARKING HERE
Please be respectful of the neighbourhood that we are in and do not park in front of people’s driveways. Obey all parking signs at all times
What about smoky conditions? Smoke from fires either nearby or distant may also impact the event and conditions can be variable from location to location. In the case that wildfire smoke is present, we will use the Canadian AQHI rating from the closest reliable source to measure air quality. If the AQHI is 7 or higher at the time of the start the stage will be cancelled. If the AQHI is less than 7 but higher than 4 the race director may modify the stage by neutralizing or shortening it in the interest of rider safety.
